couch wars

Well, the weekend weather cooperated-- with the exception of a nasty thunderstorm Friday night.  My son woke up holding his ears and couldn't go back to sleep.  Poor kid.  He's also afraid of his door knob...I guess it has a face- or so he tells us- so we'll have to take care of that-- any one have any suggestions???  Anyone???

Does anyone else have this problem?  I'm calling it couch wars.  Some people call it a sofa-- but the word "sofa" to me is too fancy-- we just have a plain old couch- you know the kind-- the kind that has seen it's fair share of coffee stains, dog hair, and a few "broken" springs.  Along with Lord knows whatever else may be lurking underneath it.  Anyway-- NO ONE  wants to sit either on the left side or middle of the couch-- it is an all out war to be able to sit on the right hand side.  If some one is sitting there-- and God forbid they get up-- it's a race to sit on that side.  If you go back and say "Hey !  I was sitting there!!  The person who stole your seat then comes back with the famous line-- "You got up- you lost it".  I had to practically push my husband off of it this morning.  Then the darn kids attempt to sit on you- or they will sit so close to you as to make you uncomfortable so that you do move.  Why oh why is the right hand side the side that everyone favors??  The reclining portion of the right hand side doesn't even work properly !!  It creaks and moans like it's going to die if you crank that handle one more time.  Even the darn dog favors the right hand side !!
